A breast can greatly affect a woman’s confidence and self-image; it can be traumatizing for it to be marred, scarred, or deformed from breast cancer treatments or an accident. At DermaHealth, our goal is to restore some of that lost confidence and help our clients look as beautiful as they feel. We offer permanent cosmetics treatments for the areola, applying a traditional design to the desired area. We also offer camouflage treatments to minimize the appearance of scarred or discolored areas.

Areola Treatment Overview

We strive to re-create the desired color and look of a natural areola. Our areola treatment employs a tattooing technique that deposits colored pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis. This treatment is safe and non-invasive, with little to no downtime. Our trained technicians will meet with you to discuss in depth what you want and expect. They will then help you determine the most appropriate color, size, and artistic details to suit your unique and individual needs. Due to the higher allergy risk in red pigments and the uniqueness of scar tissue, we recommend a patch test four weeks before the procedure.

We won’t perform a procedure without client approval. Our technician will apply a numbing cream before and during the procedure, and we take time to make you as comfortable as possible. We use pigments that are FDA-approved and made specifically for permanent cosmetic procedures performed on potentially sensitive areas. Our goal is to give you the best and safest results possible.

As with all tattoos, color can fade over time. Therefore, occasional or periodic refreshing of color may be needed.

Safety

Cosmetic professionals and active members of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (where safety is met with educational requirements and technical ability standards) perform the procedure. You can feel confident knowing your technician is held in high regard by both the medical community and the beauty industry.
